Botanical
Medicine (Herbal Medicine)
Scientific research supports the use of standardized plant
extracts for the treatment and prevention of illnesses.
Many pharmaceutical drugs are concentrated chemical derivatives
from plants. Botanical remedies in their natural state are
effective, yet have a balanced and gentle affect without
adverse side effects.
Clinical
Biochemistry Nutrition
Nutritional deficiencies at a cellular level have been implicated
with the progress of disease. Specialized laboratory testing
as well as clinical physical examination can determine one’s
individual nutritional status and enable recommendations
to promote optimum health and longevity.
Chelation
Therapy
Chelation comes from the Greek word “chele”
to claw or to bind. Chelation therapy has been used for
over 50 years safely and effectively for treating many chronic
conditions such as Cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer’s
disease, Arthritis and Osteoporosis. Chelation therapy assists
in the removal of heavy metal toxins and metabolic wastes
while repairing the body at the cellular level using vitamins,
minerals, amino acids and EDTA.
Detoxification
Environmental pollution, long-term medication, lifestyle
and poor dietary choices place additional burden on your
body’s detoxification organs causing accumulation
of toxins in the body. Detoxification is the process of
removing toxins and universally improving any health state.
Specific detoxification programs based on your individual
genetic profiling will enable advanced treatment and prevention
of disease.
Dietary
& Lifestyle Counselling
Dietary and Lifestyle counseling empowers you to take charge
of your health regardless of the condition you may be suffering
from. We offer personalized dietary and nutritional support
programs along with the tools you will need to make informative
choices.
Far-Infrared Sauna
Therapy
Clinical studies in Japan have shown multiple health benefits
from the use of radiant heat. It has been documented as
one of the most effective means to remove dioxins, PCBs,
and heavy metals from the body by penetrating deep tissue
and facilitating tissue repair. Infrared Sauna Therapy stimulates
your metabolism and promotes weight loss. A 30 minute treatment
can burn up to 600 calories!
Homeopathy
Homeopathy was developed by a German medical doctor in the
19th century. It is a form of biological medicine that is
based on the understanding that healing comes from the body’s
innate ability to heal itself. Homeopathic medicines are
safely prescribed to individuals with disease symptoms based
on the principle of ‘like cures like’. Homeopathy
may be used to treat a wide variety of conditions which
affect the skin, heart, lungs, kidneys, or other physical
and emotional ailments.
Intravenous
Vitamin/Mineral Therapy
Clinical research has demonstrated the enhanced benefits
of intravenous vitamin therapy as nutrients are absorbed
directly into the body tissues and cells. Conditions treated
include: cancer, cardiovascular conditions, colds or flu,
chronic fatigue syndrome, depression, immunodeficiency,
irritable bowel disease(s) and post surgical debility.
Intravenous (IV) therapy consists of a wide variety of vitamins,
minerals, and nutrients which are specifically selected
depending on the patient’s condition. Homeopathic
remedies given as injectables may also be recommended. Intravenous
therapy ranges from an I.V. push injected over a
10 to 15 minute period, to a larger dose of vitamins and
minerals administered through an I.V. drip, which
may require one to three hours of relaxation in a pleasant
and comfortable environment.
A fine needle is inserted into the vein of the hand or arm,
making these treatments painless. Additional benefits include
enhanced absorption of vitamins, minerals, and nutrients
directly into your circulatory system. In chronic and depleted
conditions, and where the digestive functions are often
compromised, large doses of nutrients can be delivered effectively.
In acute infections, smaller I.V. doses allow rapid therapeutic
effects by enhancing immune function.
Mesotherapy
Mesotherapy involves a non-surgical medical technique that
utilizes a combination of customized natural medications
including plant extracts, amino acids and vitamins that
aid in weight loss, treatment of cellulite, and skin rejuvenation.
Neural
Therapy
This type of therapy provides
instant relief of pain, increases mobility and returns normal
function to injured or scarred neural (nerves). Sometimes
during an injury, nerve flow is broken or diminished. With
the use of a thin needle, the well researched and completely
safe homeopathic substances are concentrated into the damaged
nerve and surrounding nerves. It has been shown that these
anesthetics repair the damage and return the nerves to normal
function.
Ozone
Therapy & Herniated Disc
Instead of undergoing surgery,
you are now able to have a herniated disc repaired with
ozone therapy - plus you are able to walk out of the clinic
that same day. Injections into the muscles surrounding the
ailment on each visit for a couple of months can shrink
the swelling and diminish the disc volume until the disc
is repaired.
Physical
Medicine
Physical Medicine focuses on the diagnosis and treatment
of musculoskeletal disorders or sports injuries. Naturopathic
manipulation and mobilization exercises are recommended
to restore optimal body function.
Wellness Massage Therapy
Our Wellness Massage therapists utilize innovative massage
various state of the art techniques such as fascial, myofascial,
lymph drainage and craniosacral therapy which help to get
to the root cause of your ailment. Research has shown that
patients who receive massage therapy have less pain, less
stress and increase overall health and wellness.
Prolotherapy is helpful for what
conditions?
Prolotherapy is useful for many different types of musculoskeletal
pain, including arthritis, back pain, neck pain, fibromyalgia,
sports injuries, unresolved whiplash injuries, carpal tunnel
syndrome, chronic tendonitis, partially torn tendons, ligaments
and cartilage, degenerated or herniated discs, TMJ and sciatica.
What is prolotherapy?
First, it is important to understand what the word prolotherapy
itself means. "Prolo" is short for proliferation,
because the treatment causes the proliferation (growth,
formation) of new ligament tissue in areas where it has
become weak.
Ligaments are the structural
"rubber bands" that hold bones to bones in joints.
Ligaments can become weak or injured and may not heal back
to their original strength or endurance. This is largely
because the blood supply to ligaments is limited, and therefore
healing is slow and not always complete. To further complicate
this, ligaments also have many nerve endings and therefore
the person will feel pain at the areas where the ligaments
are damaged or loose.
Tendons are the name
given to tissue which connects muscles to bones, and in
the same manner tendons may also become injured, and cause
pain.
Prolotherapy uses a dextrose (sugar water) solution, which
is injected into the ligament or tendon where it attaches
to the bone. This causes a localized inflammation in these
weak areas which then increases the blood supply and flow
of nutrients and stimulates the tissue to repair itself.
Historical review shows that a version of this technique
was first used by Hippocrates on soldiers with dislocated,
torn shoulder joints.
How long will it take to complete
a course of treatments?
The response to treatment varies from individual to individual,
and depends upon one's healing ability. Some people may
only need a few treatments while others may need 10 or more.
The average number of treatments is 4-6 for an area treated.
The best thing to do is get an evaluation by a trained physician
to see if you are an appropriate candidate. Once you begin
treatment, your doctor can tell better how you are responding
and give you an accurate estimate. Benefits of prolotherapy
may include increased strength, stability, and range of
motion, as well as a decrease in pain. Depending upon the
condition additional nutrients may be added to the solution,
such as Vitamin B12, Glucosamine sulfate, and MSM.
